Burbage yoga studio stretches to new heights with award win

The Yoga Loft won Best Yoga/Pilates Studio in Leicestershire and Rutland at the Muddy Stilettos Awards, a celebration of ‘brilliant, unique and unmissable businesses’ in the UK.

Owners of the studio in Britannia Buildings in Coventry Road, Vicki Cropp and Katarina Jennings, are now exploring opportunities to stretch to new heights on the back of the award, which recognises the Yoga Loft’s authentic approach and inspirational venue.

Vicki said to win just 18 months after opening was phenomenal and exciting times were ahead.

“Yoga is our passion and we have been blown away by the response to what we offer, with classes virtually full to capacity every week.” she said.

“With the busy lifestyles we now all lead, people are crying out for ‘space’ and a chance to stop or slow down. The Yoga Loft is offering them just that. To be recognised at these awards was fantastic and we’d like to thank everyone who voted for us.

“We have already been approached by people who love our distinctive concept and are interested in expanding the Yoga Loft’s business model into other ventures and venues.”

Katarina added:

“Where we differ to many other yoga classes is that our teaching is authentic, originating from traditional methods. This is not just about getting fit, but embracing a personal journey for mental and physical health. We have a very hands-on teaching style, and, as teachers, we are also always learning for our own personal development.”

According to IBISWorld, the worth of the UK pilates and yoga industry is expected to rise by 2.3% as an increasingly health-conscious society engages in more experimental health activities.

The Yoga Loft, whose mantra is guide, nurture, inspire, offers a wide range of classes, including ashtanga vinyasa, vinyasa flow, Broga for men, pre and post natal yoga, teen yoga, Yoga Bananas for kids, tai-chi and baby massage, as well as self-care workshops to help people manage their thoughts, feelings and mental health, and day retreats.
