Barrett Homes Northampton raises more than £40,000 for cause close to home

Kind-hearted staff at Barratt Homes Northampton have raised more than £40,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, following two years of continued fundraising efforts.

The well deserving charity was selected in 2016, after one of the division’s Bricklaying Apprentices was treated for Leukaemia on the Teenage Cancer Trust ward in Leicester.

Staff and subcontractors for the division have managed to raise a grand total of £41,471.55, with £8,000 being donated by parent company Barratt Developments PLC

The fundraising efforts have included a charity gala event as well as dress down days in the office.

The money raised will go towards providing expert treatment and support to young people who are diagnosed with cancer.

Andrew Swindell, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said:

“We are delighted to announce that we have been able to raise more than £40,000 for this well deserving charity that is close to our heart.

“The charity chosen is more than a worthy cause that provides life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone. This is something that has been close to all of our hearts here at the division and we are pleased to have been able to raise these funds.”

Teenage Cancer Trust exists to improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer. As they don't receive any government funding, they rely solely on donations like this to support their work.
