Franklin Ellis Architects promotes key member of the team

Nottingham and Leicester-based Franklin Ellis Architects, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has announced the promotion of Jon Crabb to associate partner.

Former associate architect Jon has been with Franklin Ellis since 2005 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.

Jon’s portfolio includes high profile schemes across the East Midlands and nationally including projects in education and domestic residential. From the Franklin Ellis Nottingham office, on The Ropewalk in the city, Jon is currently working on Town Close School in Norwich, overseeing the provision of new teaching and dining facilities within a sensitive listed environment, Pears School for Repton School in Derbyshire, the refurbishment of a listed school building for a long-term Franklin Ellis client, and Vaughan Way in Leicester, which involves the construction of 297 apartments for the private rented sector.

In his new role as associate partner, Jon will continue leading a dedicated team that delivers education and private residential schemes in addition to leading projects in the commercial and heritage sectors.

Jon said: “It’s an honour to be recognised by the company and I look forward to developing Franklin Ellis’ portfolio further, especially in the education and conservation sectors. My time here continues to be very varied and apart from the work I deliver, I really enjoy working closely with the junior members of the team and seeing them develop as talented architects.

“Franklin Ellis is a fantastic company to work for; the skilled team, company culture and clients we work with make for an inspiring career here. I look forward to delivering more great schemes in my new role.”

The announcement of Jon’s promotion follows the practice’s recent announcement that six members of its team have been promoted to associate.

Andy Dowding, partner at Franklin Ellis Architects, said:

“At Franklin Ellis we understand the importance of rewarding staff for their hard work and success. We are privileged to have such a talented and dedicated team and it’s fantastic to be able to acknowledge such long-standing members.

“Jon has been with us for 13 years now and has helped us deliver truly transformational projects throughout the region. His promotion is testament of his value to the practice and the quality of his work. I know he will thrive in this new role and I look forward to working with him on future projects.”

The leading architectural practice offers a variety of design consultancy services, including architecture, interiors, landscapes and graphics across a broad range of sectors. Since it was established in 1993, Franklin Ellis has experienced sustained growth; expanding to a team of more than 40 professionals.
