ANOKI restaurant shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year at Asian Food & Restaurant Awards

Anoki fine dining Indian restaurant has been shortlisted for the title of Midlands Restaurant of the Year at this year’s Asian Food and Restaurant Awards.

The popular restaurant, which is located on London Road in Derby and also has restaurants in Nottingham and Burton, is one of three establishments battling it out for the coveted award.

The Asian Food and Restaurant awards, which were launched in 2017, recognise the achievements and positive contributions being made by South Asians across the UK’s food industry and honour businesses and individuals for their dedication and commitment to spreading their love for Asian flavours.

The winners will be announced at a special black tie gala dinner, which is taking place in London on 31 July. Joining the finalists will be ministers, dignitaries, celebrities, Asian restaurateurs and suppliers from across the UK.

Commenting on being shortlisted for the award, Naveed Khaliq, founder of Anoki said:

“Over the past 15 years we have strived relentlessly for perfection across all our restaurants - from our food and décor to our levels of customer service.

“To be recognised as finalists for Midlands Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Food and Restaurant Awards is a huge achievement. We’re looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in July and meeting other individuals who share our passion for serving delicious Asian cuisine.”

A Haq, chairman of the Asian Food and Restaurant Awards, added:

“The Asian Food and Restaurant Awards are a platform that recognises the efforts and hard work of the Asian food industry in the United Kingdom.

“Congratulations to Anoki for making the final shortlist. We look forward to seeing Nav and the Anoki team at our gala dinner in London next month.”

Anoki’s flair for fine dining Indian cuisine has earned it recognition on a regional and national level. It was shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards 2017 and was listed in the Sunday Times Top Places to Eat in the UK, Sunday Telegraph’s STELLA magazine and the Cobra Good Curry Guide.

Locally, Anoki has won multiple awards at the Derby Telegraph and Derbyshire Chamber Business awards and Derby Food & Drink Awards.
