Member votes add up to £1,250 for Rainbows

Thanks to members casting their votes for Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s AGM, a donation of £1,250 has gone to the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Emily Wright, corporate partnerships fundraiser at the Loughborough hospice, brought a Rainbows bunny along to pick up the cheque from Hinckley & Rugby customer assistant Sophie Hancock.

The money is raised each Annual General Meeting by the Society encouraging members to vote, not only to boost the governance of the mutual but also to increase the amount it gives to Rainbows.

Thousands of members voted for this year’s Annual General Meeting resolutions, adding up to the £1,250 donation.

Emily said:

“A huge thank you to Hinckley & Rugby Building Society for once again pledging to donate to Rainbows for every vote cast at this year’s AGM. We are almost entirely reliant on donations like this to continue making every day special for life-limited children, young people, and their families across the East Midlands.

“An equally huge thank you must go to all of the members for participating this year, and for their continued support of the hospice since 2010 – we really are so grateful to everyone who took the time to vote online or by post and get involved.”

Sophie said:

“Thanks to our members supporting the democracy which underpins how Hinckley & Rugby is run for its savers and borrowers, we are pleased to again be helping the wonderful support and care provided by Rainbows.”
