Leicestershire’s Steamin’ Billy names Hope Against Cancer as its charity of the year

Brewery company Steamin’ Billy has named Leicestershire cancer research charity Hope Against Cancer as its charity of the year for 2018. The business is already a strong supporter of the charity’s work and has already hosted a number of events to raise funds for its cancer research.

Keen to support a local charity Steamin’ Billy recently held a charity golf day at the Leicestershire Golf Club, which raised £2,000 for Hope Against Cancer. The company is also planning several events for the near future, including a charity bike ride and a curry night in partnership with other Leicestershire companies. The latter is set to take place this September.

Natalie Anderson, Sales & Events Manager at Steamin’ Billy, said:

“Cancer affects so many people not only here in Leicestershire, but worldwide. The work that Hope Against Cancer does in researching the condition and what can be done to detect and treat it earlier is amazing. Their work really is putting Leicester on the map as a central point for cancer research and is undoubtedly of great support to anyone affected by cancer. We’re proud to name them as our charity of the year and hope that we can continue contributing to the charity’s future successes.”

Steamin’ Billy own pubs across the Midlands and each one now has a Hope Against Cancer collection box. These generate sizable donations for Hope Against Cancer and Steamin’ Billy believes this is one of the key ways that their customers can show their support for Hope Against Cancer too.
