Star Trust revs up fund-raising with Aston Martin factory day

MORE than 35 supercar lovers helped raise £25,000 for East Midlands charities during a supercar driving day hosted at the Aston Martin’s factory at Gaydon, organised by the Star Trust.

Star Trust organised the day with Aston Martin Nottingham who kindly sponsored the whole day – with guests paying for a chance to drive the latest Aston Martin cars, a visit to the Aston Martin factory to see how the cars are manufactured, as well as finding out about the history.

Star Trust is the creation of locally-based entrepreneurs and business owners with a passion for fundraising for local charities who donate all their time at no cost which means the charity has no overhead which is very unique. The charity’s fundraising throughout the year helps many charities in the East Midlands by providing them with much-needed funds.

Before the event The Star Trust had donated over £505,000 to 44 different East Midlands based charities and the £25,000 funds raised will be donated to more charities in the region.

Chairman of Star Trust Steve Hampson said:

“The supercar day at Aston Martin was fantastic and we raised a lot more money for charities locally. Our work helps charities do the work they do to help communities right across the East Midlands. We sincerely thank Allan Dennis of Aston Martin Nottingham for their kind and valued support”

Star Trust hosts events throughout the year in order to raise money. Charites in need of funding can simply apply from the Star Trust’s online application page at www.star-trust.org.uk. All applications are reviewed by committee members, a due diligence visit organised and then finally reviewed by Patrons.

Steve added:

“It is a great feeling for all involved when we can sit down with local charities and tell them that they have been successful in securing funds from the Star Trust. We want to give back to the local area and we shall continue to do so and we look forward to giving more money to these many great causes.”

The trust’s third and final event of the year, the Star Trust Ball, will be held on 17th November at Stapleford Park and will be a glamorous occasion expected to raise over £100,000 with 172 guests in attendance.

Start trust have supported many charities in recent years. These include Steps, PASIC, Forever Stars, Emmanuel House, The Child Bereavement Centre and more. Star Trust are always looking at new potential charities to donate to.

The Star Trust was founded in 2013 and currently has 12 dedicated committee members.
