Budding archer shoots and scores sponsorship in Nuneaton

Local housebuilders Barratt and David Wilson Homes have sponsored a local Archer in Nuneaton who is aiming to take part in the 2024 Olympics.

Hannah Rowley, 14, has been given £1,000 towards her training and is currently on the Archery GB World class performance pathway.

She lives close to the housebuilders’ new development The Long Shoot in the town and is currently competing for local and national titles.

Paul Rowley, Hannah’s dad, said: “We are extremely pleased to have received the donation from the housebuilders.

“This money will help towards her training costs with her GB coach, International travel to represent GB Academy in France, and also equipment upgrades.

“It is fantastic that Barratt and David Wilson Homes supports local people in the community to reach their goals and ambitions and to represent their country.

“It is great that they give something back to the community, and I am amazed at their new development The Long Shoot which has some wonderful houses, with fantastic rooms, all with modern designs.”

Hannah is currently a pupil at Hartshill High School in Nuneaton and hopes to be a professional Archer when she leaves.

She has been on the performance academy since the age of 10, and has won numerous National titles, most recently National Junior Champion for 2017. The next aim for Hannah is to represent Great Britain in International events, as well as key events in the UK. The sponsorship money will go towards coaching costs, accommodation, travel and entry fees for competitions, and equipment.

Hannah recently competed in France, representing the GB Academy, and has now been selected to shoot for her country in Italy in May for the European Youth Cup. She will also contest the Junior key events in the UK, and will compete in the Senior National series at the age of 15.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said:

“We are delighted to be supporting Hannah in her quest to become a professional archer and wish her the best in her future competitions.”

Jan Ruston, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, added:

“As a five star housebuilder we are committed to supporting the communities in and around the areas in which we build and are thrilled to be supporting Hannah.”
