MHR Looking For The Next Generation of Leaders

MHR Looking For The Next Generation of Leaders

MHR begins recruiting for its next Graduate Management Programme.

Nottingham-based MHR, a leading innovator of HR and payroll solutions, is looking for dynamic and driven graduates to join its Graduate Management Programme as it looks to appoint its next generation leaders.

The company, which has a £60 million turnover and employs over 650 people, has four places available on the scheme commencing in September 2018 in specialist areas of Project & Implementation Consultancy, Software Development, Managed Services and Sales & Marketing.

The programme provides a perfect opportunity for successful candidates to progress quickly to a management position within two years at one of the region’s most successful, innovative and fastest-growing global organisations.

Laura Timms joined MHR’s graduate recruitment scheme in 2015 after studying Psychology at Loughborough University, and has since progressed her career to become a Business Analytics Product Marketing Manager.

She says:  “After completing my degree I had no idea which direction to go in. The MHR Graduate Scheme was perfect because it allowed me to experience different business areas including future technology, user experience, payroll, systems and marketing before deciding on a career path and settling in my current role in Product Marketing for MHR Analytics.

“The scheme taught me how all the cogs of a business work together and developed my commercial awareness and technical skills enormously. I also developed many soft skills, such as presenting, communicating, negotiating, managing and team working.

“When looking for a Graduate Management Scheme I attended a lot of big corporate assessment days but MHR felt different. The Chairman and board of directors welcomed me on the first day so I felt like they cared about investing in me. The company is big enough that you can make a difference but not too big that you get swallowed up.

“The Chief Financial Officer mentored me throughout the scheme, and was amazing in supporting me and helping me make the transition from the scheme to a senior role. I also got to be crew on a tall ship alongside the two other graduates at the time with the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which was a challenging but rewarding experience that I will never forget and taught me a lot about myself.”

Jeanette Wheeler, Head of HR at MHR says:

“Our dedicated Graduate Management Programme Scheme is designed to equip recent graduates with the confidence, skills and experience-based training they need to kick-start their career at a fast paced, leading-edge technology company.

“During the first year successful candidates will work across all areas to gain a full understanding of business operations before spending the second year working in their specialist area. The two year programme will also include a three month placement at one of our international offices, something which not may graduate programmes offer.”

Candidates must be dynamic and driven, and have graduated in the last two years with a minimum 2:1 relevant degree in one of the specialist areas.
