LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER ANNOUNCES CHARITY OF THE YEAR FOR 2018

Nottingham-based housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands has announced its charity of the year for 2018 as Alzheimer’s Society, which supports people living with dementia and their carers.

Staff who work for the developer will commit 2018 to raising funds for the worthy cause and will do this via dress down days and other fundraising events.

Chris Southgate, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “We are delighted to announce that we have chosen our charity of the year for 2018 as the well deserving Alzheimer’s Society.

“It is a pleasure to be able to support the vital work being carried out by the team and the work they do for people with dementia is very admirable.

“Each year our company commits its fundraising efforts to a particular charity and we are looking forward to supporting the Alzheimer’s Society throughout 2018.”

Now that the charity has been announced, they will begin to plan fundraising events throughout the year.

Olly Larkin, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in the East Midlands said:

“We’re so grateful to Barratt Homes for supporting Alzheimer’s Society.

“Across the East Midlands there are 60,000 people with dementia and support like this makes a real difference. All the money raised will provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.”
