Ashmere Shows Support To National Care Home Open Day

Ashmere Derbyshire who has seven residential homes across Derbyshire demonstrated its commitment to working with the community, by opening their doors and organising an open day packed with family fun.

David Poxton Managing Director said:

"This year’s Care Home Open Day took place on 21st April 2018 and was all about Linking Communities. It's was a chance to celebrate all the different people, cultures and relationships in our area and show the community that care homes are friendly, happy and exciting places to be and this fits in perfectly with the other community based activities we are organising ”

King William based in Ripley had a magician, pony rides, craft stall and cream teas.

Codnor Park and The Firs both based on Glasshouse Hill, Codnor had singers for the whole afternoon, a tombola, raffle, lucky dip stall, delicious home made cakes and an owl experience.

Resident Phylis aged 84 said:

“I really liked the owls it reminded me of when I lived in Crich and the singers were fantastic”

Harry aged five from Waingroves School said:

“I loved coming to Ashmere, the owls were awesome and landed on my hand. I really liked the pink pony too”
