Innovate UK to drop into Nottingham to launch new support programme for tech and digital enterprises

Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency and the Knowledge Transfer Network are bringing their Digital Drop-in format to Nottingham to provide a rare opportunity for digital tech-based businesses to meet innovation advisers and access a range of business support, thanks to The Big House project and NTU Business School, part funded by European Regional Development Fund.

The event is the first in the new series of Elevator Tech workshops, designed to support digital and technology-based businesses in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

The Digital Business Drop-in is being held event at Broadway Cinema 19 April 2018, is the first of its kind in the East Midlands bringing together the Innovate UK family, including Digital Catapult and Knowledge Transfer Network. With the opportunity to meet 1-2-1 with innovation advisers, it offers tech businesses the chance to understand more about support available from organisations supporting UK-based digital businesses.

Andy Curtis, Knowledge Transfer Network Manager for the Digital Economy, will be facilitating the event and bringing along a series of special guests, he said: “This is an excellent opportunity for businesses who are looking to exploit technology to grow or accelerate the development of their digital ideas. Each business is unique and will experience different challenges in bringing their technologies, platforms, solutions and products to market. The Digital Drop in session will help with businesses access support for innovation, understand investment and funding options and make connections with people who can really take their digital business to the next level.”

The session kicks off a new programme of tech-focused business events from The Big House Project and NTU. The latest Elevator series is a programme of workshops designed to support tech businesses in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Running from April to October 2018 topics include digital intellectual property, embedding innovation in your business and an investment readiness mini-series aimed at those seeking support for funders.
