Torvill and Dean to visit Radford Care group and champion new facility

OLYMPIC skating gold medallists Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are to visit the Radford Care Group on Tuesday (April 10th) to help celebrate the charity’s 50th anniversary.

The world famous Nottingham duo - who became patrons of the care group in 2017 – will meet attendees and help raise awareness of the group’s vision for the future including its new state-of-the-art care facility, which work will begin on later this year.

The development will see the existing care centre demolished and an ultramodern facility constructed in its place, enabling the team to support more elderly people in the area and extend the amount of services they are able to offer.

CEO of Radford Care Group, Jill Davies said:

“It is absolutely fantastic that our patrons Torvill and Dean are coming to hear more about the development of our new facility. We are really looking forward to welcoming them on Tuesday for what is shaping up to be a great day for everyone involved with Radford Care Group.”

The £1.3 million project is being delivered by a number of local partners, including architects CPMG and global property consultancy Gleeds.

Jill added “Momentum behind the new build is really building and we hope that with the visit of Torvill and Dean will really harness people’s interest in this development. It’s a great, ambitious project and we want everyone in the region to know what the Radford Care Group can provide and what we are looking to achieve.”

Radford Care Group runs a bespoke friendship group and day care centre for older people and one of the leading care groups in Nottingham. Founded in 1968, the group aims to create a place for older people in the area to socialise, connect with one another and receive care in a safe and supportive environment.

Torvill and Dean will visit the facility, situated on Prospect Street in Radford on Tuesday, April 10th between 11am and 12pm.
