MORLEY HAYES TO STAGE WEEK-LONG BEER AND GIN FESTIVAL IN MAY

On the back of the success of its first ever Beer and Gin Festival which took place in August last year, Derbyshire leisure complex Morley Hayes is set to host a week-long festival event over this year’s May Bank Holiday.

The eight-day Beer and Gin Festival is taking place in the Old Stables Bar, a recently refurbished barn at the complex on Main Road in Morley, from Thursday 3 May to Thursday 10 May, with live music on Friday 4 May and Bank Holiday Monday 7 May.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the very best beers that Derbyshire and the nearby areas have to offer, whilst gin lovers can have their taste buds tantalised by a range of different gins from around the world too!

Nine different casks of local beer and cider will be available, as well as forty gins from across the world including several from local distilleries in Nottingham, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

The Beer and Gin Festival will be open from 6pm on Thursday 3 May with the bar set to close at 11pm each evening except Sunday 6 and Monday 7 May, when the bar will close at 10.30pm. Admission to the event is free.

Commenting on staging the Beer and Gin Festival, Andrew Allsop, managing director of Morley Hayes, said:

“Our first local Beer and Gin Festivals were staged in May and August 2017 and were attended by hundreds of people from across the area.

“The events received such fantastic feedback that we have decided to stage another event over this year’s May Bank Holiday.

“As the Morley Hayes complex is conveniently located on the H1 and Y1 bus routes, it’s the perfect excuse to leave the car at home and enjoy a refreshing drink or two in a relaxing setting.”

Morley Hayes is set in the stunning Derbyshire countryside overlooking parkland golf courses. It boasts a luxury four star, 32-bedroom hotel and a choice of three restaurants, including the award-winning two AA rosette Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bar.

Golf facilities include a championship length 18-hole Manor course, 9-hole Tower course, a newly-refurbished 17 bay, all weather floodlit driving range, golf pavilion and a highly-respected Golf Academy.
