Easter egg-travganza seeks good causes in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire

Derbyshire-based metal and waste recycling specialist, Ward, is once again launching its annual #tweetforatreat campaign.

With more than 1,000 chocolate eggs to donate, supplied by Thorntons, the local business is seeking nominations for good causes within the local community to receive a delivery from 'Ward's Easter Bunny'.

Ward has launched this year's campaign on social media and is encouraging charities and local community groups to #tweetforatreat and nominate worthy recipients by Friday 23rd March, for a special delivery.

The fourth generation family business, which has four waste recycling and metal processing sites in Ilkeston, Swadlincote and Chesterfield will make the donations and deliver all over Midlands in the run up to the Easter Bank Holiday.

Donald Ward, Head of Technical and Recycling at Ward, said:

"Now in its eighth year and each year getting even bigger and better, we now have over 1,000 Thornton's eggs to give to great causes. We're looking for nominations from people, charities, local schools or nurseries holding an Easter egg hunt or a tombola or anyone who could do with a chocolate treat to brighten their day."

"It's been a tough start to 2018 for many and we want to spread a bit of joy in the local community. It is great to put a smile on people's faces and we know that in recent years the eggs have been really well received."

Ward has already had requests from local organisations it supports, such as the Staunton Harold Sailability Trust who will be running an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday 1st April. Ward helped Staunton Harold Sailability Trust last year by donating funds to enable the purchase of essential kit and it is hoped their Egg hunt will help raise some more much needed funds for more equipment.

Previous recipients of the eggs have included The Treetops Hospice in Risley, Making Spaces in Ilkeston, Springfield School in Stapleford and Holme Hall Unite in Chesterfield. This year the campaign is hoped to reach even more locations.

To be in with a chance of a delivery from Ward's Easter Bunny tweet @Wardrecycling with #tweetforatreat to nominate a good cause before Friday 23rd March or email enquiries@ward.com.
