Succession Planning Ensures Smooth Transition for Clients

Channack Ross, a firm of specialist pension consultants and an integral part of The RU Group, has announced the retirement of Specialist Pensions Manager, John Oswin and the promotion of his successor James Corby.

John has been with Channack Ross for over 15 years. During his time with the company, John has built a successful team of experts, delivering consistent technical support to a range of clients across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Over the years, John has managed the company through numerous legislation changes affecting the pensions industry, as well structural changes, including successful business acquisition as the RU Group goes from strength to strength.

John will be succeeded by James Corby. James joined Channack Ross in 2017 as Business Development Manager, having been brought on board to assist with the management of the day-to-day dealings, in respect of the SSAS(s) under administration as well as seeking new opportunities for the business. He is looking forward to assuming role as manager of the Administration Team within Channack Ross, offering technical guidance and assistance to existing and prospective Members and Trustees, in addition to his current role within the business.

Commenting on his promotion, James said:

“My new role presents a huge opportunity for me and I am looking forward to continuing John’s work and developing Channack Ross and The RU Group further over the coming years.”

John Oswin will retire from Channack Ross at the end of February 2018. He has played an instrumental role in working alongside his successor throughout 2017 and the start of 2018 to ensure a smooth transition for his clients.

Commenting on his retirement, John said:

“I will certainly miss my colleagues and friends I have made during my 15 years at Channack Ross. Retirement is a huge step for me but I’m looking forward to having more time for my leisure interests and my family. I have enjoyed working with James to ensure a seamless transition for our clients and I’m confident he’ll do great work for them.”
