WEDDING BOOKINGS UP 50% AT NEWLY RENOVATED COCKLIFFE COUNTRY HOUSE

Cockliffe Country House Hotel, owned by Heritage Estates, is reaping the benefits of its recent refurbishment as it announces a boom in wedding bookings.
Wedding bookings at the 17th century former farmhouse increased by 50% in 2017 compared to the previous year, highlighting continued interest in the historic Nottinghamshire venue.
A 2,400 sq.ft open space was built as part of the £750,000 renovation, which has already been put to use by multiple couples throughout the winterwedding season. The 11-bedroom hotel began its refurbishment last February.
Commenting on the increase in demand, director Jon-Paul Davies said:
“We’re thrilled to see that our hard work has paid off, and how happy our venue is making those who visit it. We knew we had to create something beautiful, whilst also paying homage to the hotel’s heritage and original features.
“The new space is perfect for weddings – reflected in the increase in happy brides and grooms-to-be – but other events such as conferences or special celebrations can also be hosted in this wonderful space.”
A purpose-built luxury bridal room has now been created, offering privacy, functionally and comfort on the big day. The extensive renovation scheme also included a full refit of the main house including its bedrooms and restaurant, and the commercial kitchen has been extended to cope with demand.
Room bookings have risen by 25% since the venue was transformed, with reservations at the restaurant for January growing by 100% compared to last year.
Jon-Paul added:
“Our wedding and events team have done a terrific job of guiding prospective customers through the renovations as they happen to ensure expectations are met and the master plan is effectively relayed to them. This, with the new interiors, means we’re receiving some great feedback from our guests.
“The new space has extremely well received, and it just shows there’s an appetite for wedding venues like ours in the region. We’re looking forward to welcoming many more happy couples and guests through our doors over the next couple of years and beyond.”
