Mike Adam’s MBE, Managing Director of RISK Health and Safety Training explains how he developed a delivery format which means more people pass when they take the two hour exam.
The traditional method is to undertake the training, revise, then sit two 2 hour exams on the same day. I designed a ‘Fast Track’ learner focused modular system. This ‘Fast Track’ system means the delegate is emersed in the subject matter relating to one of the exams for a week, then takes the relevant exam after a morning of tutor led focused revision. This means the delegates take their exam whilst the knowledge on the subject matter is fresh and undiluted.
It was born from a realisation that the vast majority of delegates had busy lives, and their day job is usually not focused on the detailed health and safety civil and criminal law. What’s more for a large percentage of delegates, it’s the first time they will have taken an exam since leaving school.
Changing the way we delivered the training has led to our NEBOSH exam pass rates out-performing the national average for the past 2 years.
