Harrier UK shortlisted for Festival Supplier Award!

Health and safety and event specialist company, Harrier UK have been shortlisted for ‘Best Health and Safety’ by the Festival Supplier Awards 2018.

The Festival Supplier Awards were launched in 2014 to recognise the achievements and hard work of outdoor event and festival suppliers. Already firmly established as an excellent evening of celebration and networking, the awards will return to London’s Hurlingham Club on Thursday 25th January 2018.

The award categories cover a multitude of outdoor event essentials, from staging, crowd management, temporary structures, health and safety and crewing to crowd barriers, toilets, technology and glamping.

Derbyshire-based Harrier are contenders to win the award for the development, management and delivery of health and safety at festivals. This accolade is a great achievement for Harrier and they are shortlisted with Symphotech and We Are the Fair.

Andy Smith, Managing Director of Harrier UK, commented, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for ‘Best Health and Safety’ at the Festival Supplier awards! Effective Health & Safety is not about what you do; but about why you do it. Our services not only ensure people’s safety but also assist event organisers in creating an unforgettable, yet safe event.

We care about people, and by putting people first, health and safety naturally follows. Adding to this we are very lucky to be able to work with event organisers who share the same values as us at Harrier UK. We are really looking forward to the awards evening and finding out if we have won, we’d be over the moon.”

Harrier UK have worked at festivals such as Detonate Festival, Madness and Social Festival at Kent Showground and Sundown & Reload Festival at Norfolk Showground. As well as festivals, Harrier work on events within sports grounds such as Wembley Stadium along with smaller events such as firework displays.

“Our areas of responsibility stretch from crowd safety, food and water hygiene to overseeing fire safety and the monitoring of weather conditions – many festivals have a variety of weather conditions to contend with meaning that every festival is different and needs a bespoke health and safety strategy, which Harrier provides,” continues Andy.
