Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Adrian Fowler, managing director of Midland Fixings comments on today’s Autumn Budget.

“The £34 million set aside to develop construction skills across the country will help to future proof the construction industry which has been tasked with significantly increasing homebuilding in the coming years. Businesses like ours are committed to investing in developing the skills of young apprentices and trainees which are vital in the delivery of construction schemes across all sectors.

“As an SME in the region, I’m pleased the fuel duty rise will be frozen, which means we can ensure our clients receive value for money when delivering materials UK-wide. The switch from RPI to CPI business rates will help to manage the increasing costs associated with running a business, helping us to maintain healthy growth during Brexit.

“We’re pleased that £6 million will be invested into Midlands Connect motorway and rail projects – fast-tracking investment in local infrastructure is vital to ensure we can continue to deliver for our clients.”
