Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

McCann continues to grow its lighting division, with the appointment of experienced Design and Technical Manager, Michael Walker

Civil and Electrical Engineering firm McCann, has strengthened the lighting arm of the business with the appointment of experienced lighting design specialist, Michael Walker in the role of Design and Technical Manager.

Michael has joined Nottingham-based McCann from WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he fulfilled the role of Principal Engineer/Team Leader.

He joins McCann with 30 years' experience behind him in electrical engineering - with 20 of those specifically in the street lighting industry.

His previous roles have included both public and private sector positions, with experience in design and supervision of various exterior lighting design projects - including road lighting design for 'A' and 'B' class roads, motorways, residential areas, town centre beautification, amenity lighting, sports floodlighting and tunnel/subway lighting.

"Being given the opportunity to work for such a forward-thinking company as McCann is an exciting prospect and I am looking forward to helping the business continue its growth within the lighting sector," said Michael.

Managing Director John McCann, is looking forward to working with Michael and sees him as a vital piece in the jigsaw in order for McCann to build upon its reputation as a trusted provider of lighting solutions.

"We are looking to Michael to lead the professional/technical services arm of the business - seeking out new opportunities in order to continue our growth in the lighting sector," says John.  "Adding Michael to the team means that we can now offer more services in the design, supply and installation of lighting - as well as providing comprehensive technical assistance when required - giving us another dimension and making us a 'one-stop shop' for all lighting requirements," added John.
