Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

TOP MIDLANDS ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY APPOINTS NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT POWERHOUSE

BUILDING Services Design (BSD), one of the region’s largest mechanical and electrical engineering (M&E) consultancies, has announced that Alexandra Kowalczuk has joined the company as its new business development consultant.

The business has been operating for 25 years from regional offices across the UK and has appointed Alex to support its expansion of services in the East Midlands.

“I’m delighted to have joined such a well-established and well-regarded company,” said Alex, who has five years’ experience in business development.

“Prior to business development, I worked in local government for 30 years within various civic and elected members’ offices; I headed up teams which were responsible for high profile events as well as operations and overseeing various civic offices and councillors.

“I’ve lived in Leicestershire my entire life and first came across BSD four years ago and have had a relationship with the team ever since. It’s fantastic to now be officially on board and be part of the exciting future of the business as it works on more and more transformative projects in the region,” continued Alex.

BSD worked on the award-winning New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester, providing detailed M&E design services for the grand new entrance and the redevelopment of the ground and first floor. The museum now boasts a new lift and a spiral staircase ready to take visitors to the first-floor galleries. Skylights and upper-floor windows have been restored which now floods natural light into the refurbished entrance.

As well as this, BSD has also delivered M&E services for Topps Tiles’ headquarters refurbishment at Grove Park – which has seen a total redesign of the premises, with an overall cost of £2 million. An inspiring workplace has now been created, with a contemporary and creative atmosphere for Topps Tiles’ employees. BSD provided a design strategy which now provides staff with an efficient, open and flexible working environment.

“BSD has completed some truly incredible work in the region; it has great values, delivers excellence, invests in its employees and values its clients.

“In my new role, I’ll be focussing on generating more business opportunities for the company and maintaining the longstanding relationships for which BSD is known,” continued Alex.

Alex will be working closely alongside Jo Jones, associate director at BSD, who is based at the Birmingham office.

“My job involves a lot of travel so it’s great to have someone on board who can help with various appointments, meetings and events across the county,” said Jo.

“We’ve known Alex for a long time and I’m sure she’ll be a huge asset to the business and will assist in our long-term business goals,” added Jo.

BSD is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year – to keep up-to-date with its celebrations follow: @BSD_consulting on Twitter and Instagram, BSD company page on LinkedIn or visit: www.bsd.co.uk for more information.
