CARING COMPANY MAKES A SPLASH

On Monday (October 30) Sarah and Aldrin Caines – who are the brains behind Navigation Support & Care Services – are throwing open the doors on their newest venture, Navigation Hydrotherapy.
It is based in a large industrial unit in Sadler Court, off Sadler Road, which was leased to the couple by Lincoln-based chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co.
It’s a thrilling time for Star Trek fans, Sarah and Aldrin. The pair launched their care business in 2011 and its day centre and head office is based at the city’s Carlton Centre in premises they couldn’t resist naming Enterprise!
Since then, their business has grown phenomenally, to employ 80 people and to offer day and supported living in the community for people with physical and mental difficulties. Clients include NHS and private patients.
The growth of Navigation, which also has a Day Centre in Bargate (Odyssey) and five supported homes (Excelsior, Endeavour, Pheonix, Atlas and Apollo), has now emcouraged the couple to boldly set-up the hydrotherapy centre (Atlantis) as a complementary business.
“We decided to invest in offering people hydrotherapy, as well as physio, sports massage, and other wellbeing services, because we saw a clear gap for these in the local market,” said Sarah.
“We have spoken with the NHS and we hope to offer services with them very soon.
“We quickly realised that water-based therapies would not only help many of our own clients but they could also be offered privately to people who are having trouble finding services in other parts of the East Midlands. We will be open to everyone ensuring all can attend.”
Aldrin said: “Our new facilities feature a 17 foot swim spa, which is a cross between a swimming pool and a hot tub. This has been imported from America and the Marquis equipment is claimed to be the first in the world to feature a commercial grade sand filter, designed to ensure clean, sanitised and crystal clear water at all times.”
An eight-seater hot tub, which is also being sourced from America, is expected to be installed by Christmas.
“As well as offering hydrotherapy treatment, we are also offering physio, sports massage and other complementary therapies to both our own clients and people who book private sessions,” said Aldrin.
“We already employ 80 people across our business, but Navigation Hydro has created jobs for three others, who will be working alongside me. We are also delighted that our move has created a voluntary job for one of our own clients.
“If everything goes well and Navigation Hydro proves as popular as we believe it will, we could look at expanding this concept to another East Midlands location,” he added.
