Major Event to highlight how innovation works for business

Businesses from across the East Midlands are invited to find out how innovation can help them innovate and boost the economy. 

Five speakers and 55 exhibitors will be at The Innovation InCharnwood Showcase event on Monday, October 30 from 2-5pm at Loughborough Town Hall.

The Showcase has been organised by Loughborough Advanced Technology and Innovation (LATi), in partnership with inCharnwood, an initiative by Charnwood Borough Council.

 

Significant numbers of people have already booked their free place to visit the Showcase which is part of the Leicester Business Festival 2017.

The theme of the event is ‘How to Innovate and Win’ and will highlight the world-class innovation and taking place locally and across Leicestershire.

Exhibitors from key economic sectors will be exhibiting at the event, with a significant emphasis on advanced manufacturing, low carbon energy technologies, engineering and creative industries.

 

Local innovators, scientists, engineers and creatives will be speaking at the Showcase. They are:

• Richard Brewer of 3M United Kingdom PLC on developing breakthrough medical devices
• Chris Ruddock of Incus Performance on enhancing top flight athlete’s performance
• Steven Brand of Sentle on disrupting the CRM marketplace
• Oli Folkerd of Event Engineering on creating mind-blowing brand experiences
• Dan Ninan of Intelligent Energy on powering a sustainable future.

 

LATI Chairman John Duncan said:

“Whilst businesses are facing almost unprecedented challenges and uncertainty at present, there is clear evidence in the East Midlands that many businesses are more than meeting the challenge head on. Through innovation they are increasing productivity and expanding their customer base. The Showcase is a new and unique way of highlighting how our part of the region is well placed to face future challenges”.

 

Richard Bennett, Head of Planning and Regeneration at the borough Council said:
