THERE’S ‘MORTAR’ THIS GARDEN THAN MEETS THE EYE: HOMEBUYER PUTS STAMP ON NEW PROPERTY IN COALVILLE BY LAYING BRICK

A Coalville homebuyer has put her stamp on a brand new David Wilson Homes property after placing an engraved brick in her garden wall during the early build stages.

Debbie Green, who has reserved a home at the Stenson’s Quarter development on Bardon Road, was thrilled to be given the chance to lay a brick in her new home by the site team, which her father engraved with her initials, DLG, and 2017.

She will be moving into her three bedroom Hadley in November with her Lhasa Apso Tilly, and currently visits the development every week without fail to see the progress of her home.

Stenson’s Quarter stood out as an ideal choice for her because of its fantastic commuter links and already flourishing community.

Debbie, 56, said: “I was over the moon when the site team told me I would be able to place a brick in my garden wall – it’s such an unusual thing to do and apparently no one’s requested it before.

“My dad engraved it the brick for me and it’s amazing to think I’ve already been able to put my stamp on my new home before even moving in.

“When I looked around the show home, I completely fell in love with it but didn’t think I’d ever be able to afford it.

“However, when the Sales Adviser Susan talked me through the Help to Buy scheme it became much more within reach than I’d thought – and the process to apply for this was so quick.

“The style of property is just so lovely; it’s like the sort of dream house you would draw as a child at school.”

Debbie, who is a mother of two, is originally from Leicestershire, but most recently lived in Scotland before moving back to the area.

She first visited the show home at Stenson’s Quarter in January, and Susan from David Wilson Homes kept in touch with her over the months whilst she had other commitments before moving back to Leicestershire. Once back in the area she knew she didn’t want to go with any other developer and was delighted when Susan managed to find her the dream home she’d be looking for.

As she works from home, she will be using one of her new bedrooms as a study, and leaving the other bedroom as a spare room for when either of her children, Eleanor, 24, and Adam, 22, come to stay.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Here at David Wilson Homes we are committed to our customers and go above and beyond to make sure their new home is special.

“We are delighted that Debbie has been able to put her mark on her new home and wish her the best of luck when she moves in in November.”

With well-regarded primary and secondary schooling, Stenson’s Quarter is close to all of the amenities needed for everyday life, making it an ideal choice for growing families.

The close proximity to the A50, M1 and M42 ensures working professionals looking to commute are also well catered for.

Just 25 minutes away from the development is Loughborough railway station where residents can catch direct trains to London St Pancras, arriving in as little as 90 minutes.

Stenson’s Quarter currently has a selection of four bedroom homes available to reserve, with prices starting from £239,995.
