Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Birchover Sales and Lettings have been appointed as the sole selling agent for an exciting new development of nine homes on Duffield Road in Derby. Oaklands is the latest construction of high quality homes by Derby-based developer Meadowview Homes.

Situated at the city centre end of Duffield Road and with private access from a cul-de-sac, the nine executive three storey town houses will be finished to a very high standard.  Each home will have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and two allocated private parking spaces – itself a huge selling point so close to Derby city centre.

A quick glance at other homes that Meadowview have built recently in Appleby Magna, Rocester, Allestree and elsewhere demonstrates that a lot of care and thought goes into the layout of the homes, the quality of the appliances and finishes used, as well as the actual setting.

The new home owners at Oaklands will be able to live on the northern edge of Derby city centre, but have the benefit of a quiet location only a five minute walk from the Cathedral Quarter. Set well back from Duffield Road, the development is accessed via the cul-de-sac of Queen Mary Court. Each of the nine homes will have a garden that itself backs onto the gardens of existing homes – so privacy and peace are guaranteed.

Within each home, careful thought has been given to the layout and how people will live. The ground floor features large open-plan kitchens with Neff integrated appliances, a wine cooler and Silestone worktops. Underfloor heating on the ground floor gives a warm, cosy welcome on autumn and winter nights.

Moving upstairs, each of the homes will have three bedrooms (one which is perfectly suited as a study or nursery) and a family bathroom on the first floor. The top floor is given over to a master suite, incorporating a large bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe.

Abigail Lee, Head of Sales and Marketing at Meadowview Homes is very enthusiastic about the lifestyle that Oaklands offers. “We always work hard to identify locations which will give our homeowners a great quality home in a lovely setting. This area just to the north of Derby city centre is highly prized and that can be seen by the quality of homes and the speed at which they sell along Duffield Road and in the Strutts Park Conservation Area. Oaklands gives people the rare opportunity to buy a brand new home in this area and also have the benefit of a garden, two parking spaces, a peaceful location and such close proximity to the city centre. We’re really proud to be making this number of high quality homes available here”.

The homes at Oaklands went on sale last Friday (6th October) and two of the nine plots have been sold already. Help To Buy is available for all purchasers, not just first time buyers. This will certainly help people looking to move up the housing ladder and, as Laura Etheridge – Managing Director of Birchover Sales and Lettings – states, early interest in the development has been boosted by this fact. “We’re really excited and proud to be representing Meadowview here at Oaklands. As we expected with such high specification homes in this setting, demand has been very strong already. There has been a lot of interest from local people who are looking to move up the property ladder. Typically, they bought a two or three bedroom terrace locally as a young couple or with one child. Now, as their family expands, they’re very keen to stay in the same area because of how close they are to town and the reputation of local schools. Oaklands has given them the ideal opportunity to stay in the area, but move to a larger home and benefit from Help to Buy too. Of course, all of the benefits that local residents see are what are attracting buyers from further afield too”.

Birchover are also the sole agent on the Kings Crescent development just 200 metres further along Duffield Road and Laura feels that this is a benefit to both developers. “We have already seen from the huge level of interest in those apartments and town houses at Kings Crescent that people want to stay in, and move to, this area. The fact that the developments are quite different but are both attracting a lot of enquiries proves to us that people desperately want to experience city living in newly-built high quality homes. We are thrilled to be part of two such positive developments, bringing people back into the heart of Derby” said Laura.

Meadowview Homes already have plans in place for their next move. Having created new communities in Borrowash, Keyworth, Selston and the locations mentioned above, Meadowview’s next development will be in West Bridgford, Nottingham. The partnership will continue with Birchover there as Birchover Sales and Lettings will promote that development in their Nottingham city centre branch and their upcoming Derby city centre branch. Furthermore, because The Birchover Residences already have the ‘jewel in the crown’ apartment-hotel at Bridgford Hall, the Birchover name is already well-known in West Bridgford. Birchover co-owner Carl Bridge is excited about the next step, saying “We share the same values and ethos as Meadowview and are very happy to be working with them at West Bridgford too. To have two Derby companies making a big splash there is great. Our constant marketing via magazines, brochures, press and radio coverage and word-of-mouth in West Bridgford means we can leverage that to help Meadowview have a great launch of their latest development there from Boxing Day. That in itself is perfect timing, because we know from Rightmove data that Boxing Day is the busiest day of the year for property searches. We are extremely happy to be working with James, Abi and the team at Meadowview on Oaklands and West Bridgford”.
