Macildowie sets ambitious charity fundraising target

Nottingham-based recruitment consultancy Macildowie is nearly halfway to reaching its fundraising target of £7,500 for local charities, after the first in a series of events.

Staff, family and friends at Macildowie hosted a barbeque, which raised over £3,000, to kick-start their fundraising efforts for charities close to their hearts.

A series of events, hosted over the course of this financial year, are being held to raise thousands of pounds for children’s hospice Rainbows, mental health charity Mind (Derbyshire), and the Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports young people injured through sport.

Last year Macildowie raised £1,500 for Maggie’s Centres, which provide support for people affected by cancer.

Managing director of Macildowie, James Taylor, explained:

“We asked our staff which charities they had a personal connection to and which were most important to them. Supporting the local community is really important to us at Macildowie and we always try to do as much as we can to give something back.

“As well as helping these worthy causes, the events also provide a brilliant chance to learn more about our colleagues away from the office. The barbeque was a great start to the fundraising, we have already surpassed the amount raised last year and we are well on our way to beating our target this year.”

Macildowie staff are now looking forward to their remaining events, an end of summer beach party, a ‘Christmas bonanza’ and an ‘Easter extravaganza’, to continue their fundraising.
