An apartment and shop in Nottinghamshire are being given away as a raffle prize which will provide the winner with a possible pension for life and they won’t even have a mortgage to pay.
Couple Annamarie Garmston and Nathan Lee, from Carlton, will raffle off the two-bedroomed flat and tattoo shop, valued at £125,000, through their online venture Raffs2Riches.co.uk. This is the first time a property in Nottingham has been offered as a raffle prize and it could give someone an income of £9,600 a year.
The winner will have the opportunity to live in the flat in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and rent out the shop, meaning that not only could it be the chance for someone to get a foot on the property ladder, but they will also have a monthly income which could act as a pension pot – all for the price of a £10 ticket.
Annamarie, said: “Today’s current housing market is proving difficult for young people to get a foot on the ladder and with growing concern over pensions this could be an ideal quick fix for the lucky winner.”
Nathan and Annamarie, who have three children including a six-month-old son, launched their own business Raffs2Riches.co.uk to make a better life for their family. The concept is that people buy a raffle ticket for a chance of winning a big prize, with other prizes including Rolex watches.
To be in with a chance of winning, people can buy a ticket on the Raffs2Riches website through the mega raffle game. Tickets will be drawn by automated tom bowler style software to decide on the winner. The first 1,000 people to like and share the competition on Facebook will be entered into a draw to win a Rolex watch.
Nathan said: “When we were younger and growing up in Carlton many people used this idea to raise money for charity, raffling off a watch or smaller items. We decided we could make a business from this and raffs2riches.co.uk was born.
“It will give first time buyers the chance to get onto the property ladder for the small amount it will cost for a ticket.”
The business has received the backing from celebrities including Randy Coutor of UFC and The Expendables movies fame, WWE star Shelly Martinez and Mike Hassani, from TOWIE.
