Drive to support Armed Forces by Leicester business

A Leicester based vehicle management company has moved its support for the Armed Forces community up a gear.

Total Motion officially signed the Armed Forces Covenant at its Meridian Business Park headquarters on Friday, 25 August. Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Parker of 7th Infantry Brigade signed the Covenanton behalf of the ministry of Defence alongside Total Motion’s Managing Director, Simon Hill who pledged that Armed Forces personnel, veterans,reservists and their families will be treated fairly by the company.

After Simon set the company up in his back yard in 1998, Total Motion expanded rapidly, doubling in size in the last six months to 96 employees.

Simon Hill said: “As our business continues to grow we’re delighted to be ableto sign the Armed Forces Covenant and strengthen our support for present and former Service personnel and their families.

“The levels of training provided by the military are incredibly high and it’s been amazing to see just how far those skills transfer into the business environment.

“Signing the covenant confirms our pledge to back Service personnel be they our employees or our clients.”

John Wilson, the Ministry of Defence’s Regional Employer Engagement Director for the East Midlands, said: “It’s great that a thriving business such as Total Motion has signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

“It shows that the company understands how broad a skillset Service personal develop through their military training and the many benefits that can provide to employers.

“Strengthening its relationship with the Armed Forces community is likely to help Total Motion grow further in the future.”
