Nuttall Apprentice Wows, Winning Prestigious Award

An apprentice at The Alan Nuttall Partnership, leading interior fit out and display specialist, has been awarded the accolade of Dudley College’s 16-18 Apprentice of the Year for Manufacturing & Engineering, 2017.

The Midlands-based Partnership has been committed to training and development throughout its 51 successful years in business. The team employ anywhere up to 20 apprentices at any one time, many of whom progress into more senior roles within the Partnership.

Jaime Ward, 17, has worked for Nuttall since the start of 2017 as an Apprentice Fabricator Welder, after taking the time to study theory on campus at Dudley College; she is now applying this in a practical setting on The Alan Nuttall Partnership manufacturing floor. This summer sees her rewarded for her hard work, along with 32 award winners from different categories, as she prepares to be presented with the award for 16-18 Apprentice of the Year for Manufacturing & Engineering at the Dudley College Annual Student Celebration, in September.

College Tutor, Malcolm Kendall, said, “Jaime has outstanding skills which are demonstrated by the quality of her work.”

Speaking of the achievement, Nino Calandra, Managing Director at The Alan Nuttall Partnership commented, “We are delighted to see Jaime rewarded for her hard work and commitment. We are in the fortunate position of being able to offer these excellent training opportunities for apprentices and we see so much benefit from it.”

“Our apprentices are highly valued in the business and the skills that they develop along with the understanding of our process and quality requirements, give us a great result. We achieved a similar award two years ago and we’re so grateful to Jaime for her hard work and to the team at Dudley College for honouring the Partnership’s training provision again. We hope that Jaime enjoys every minute of the awards ceremony in September. I know that she will continue to be a very important part of our shop floor team,” he concluded.

Dudley College has long held a relationship with The Alan Nuttall Partnership, being neighbours in the town and having a shared vision for the progression of the area and its community; it seems to be a partnership that works well for all involved.

The Alan Nuttall Partnership, who deliver projects for almost all of the biggest high street retailers and foodservice providers, recruit apprentices throughout the year, so if you are interested in finding out more, visit nuttalls.co.uk/apprenticeships or email the team at recruitment@nuttalls.co.uk.
