FIRST TIME BUYERS FIND FOREVER HOME AND BECOME ONE OF THE FIRST RESIDENTS AT NEW LUBBESTHORPE

A pair of first time buyers have become one of the first residents to move into their brand new home Barratt Homes’ development at New Lubbesthorpe.

Scott Wallace (27) and Lyndsey Green (26) cleverly avoided the rental trap and took their first step onto the property ladder after saving up for a deposit by living with their parents.

They chose to move to the brand new development, on Beggars Lane, because it was close to their family and friends and they found their house ticked all of the boxes for what they were looking for.

And by using the Government backed Help to Buy scheme, they were able to secure their dream home with just a 5% deposit.

Scott said: “We were keen to buy our own house rather than rent because with renting you can get stuck into a trap of just paying money each month and not getting anywhere. Now we own our own property and we have a solid investment for our future.

“Knowing that Barratt Homes is a five star housebuilder makes us feel confident in the quality of the work and the after care service. It helped our decision and made it easy to decide to go ahead with buying the house.”

Their four bedroom Belgravia 1 home perfectly suits their needs because of its free flowing open plan layout, which is perfect for entertaining guests, and its cosy living room, which they find is ideal for down-time after a day at work.

The couple’s favourite features of their new property are the large dining area and the master bedroom which has a dressing area.

The location of the development serves them well as it is close to their family and friends as well as being near to Fosse Park, Meridian and Leicester City Centre.

The residents will also benefit from a number of new facilities that are being built at the development, including two primary schools and a secondary school, as well as 75 acres of woodland and 250 acres of open space.

There will also be a mixed-use neighbourhood centre with space for a variety of facilities including a health centre, a nursey and a community centre.

Lyndsey added: “We used the Help to Buy scheme because it allowed us to move into our forever home and meant we had more money available to spend on furniture and home items.

“We think the growing community here at New Lubbesthorpe will be fantastic and we are excited to be a part of this and to see it develop.”

Both Scott, who is an Accountant and Lyndsey, a Deputy Manager at a Nursery, find the development has fantastic commuter links and allows them to get to work easily.

New Lubbesthorpe is just a 15 minute drive from Leicester city centre, a 40 minute drive from Coventry city centre and 50 minute drive from Nottingham city centre.

The nearby Leicester train station, which is just a 20 minute drive away, provides fast links to major cities such as Birmingham and London.

Jan Ruston, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We are delighted to hear that Scott and Lyndsey have settled into their new home at New Lubbesthorpe.

“Having the first people move into our new development marks another milestone in our progress here and we are delighted that the homes are proving very popular with buyers.”

The development currently has a selection of two and four bedroom homes that are available to reserve, with prices starting from £159,995.
