Office Relocation for Construction Services Firm after 26 Years

A Derbyshire firm has sold its former Ripley base and invested £350,000 on a new bespoke head office in South Normanton.

Leedale, which specialises in waste management, transport and environmental solutions, sold its premises of 26 years at Heage Road Industrial Estate in Ripley, with staff now based at Maisie’s Way in South Normanton. It has also spent £250,000 on extending its recycling depot in Alfreton.

All 15 staff are based at the new bespoke head office, which marks an expansion for the company. As well as a total of £360,000 invested into the bespoke environment a further £30,000 has been spent on renovations.

Lee Walkup, owner of Leedale, said: “The new state-of-the-art office is part of a planned restructure which started in 2014. We have continued to expand all of our construction related services over the last two to three years and are currently waiting for delivery of four brand new CAT 360 degree tracked excavators.

“The new offices have been refurbished creating a better environment and base for all our staff in a fabulous location.”

The firm formerly owned three plots at the site in Ripley. These have now sold them through Derby based David Brown Commercial for £1.2 million to another well-established haulage company. The 1.93 acre site includes a 3,300 square foot office building and a 2,930 foot workshop.

David Brown, said: “We got a lot of competitive interest within days of it going on sale. It majorly exceeded expectations on price. We agreed a deal within a week of putting it on the market.

“This demonstrates the strength of the market for this type of property and particularly of the demand that exists in Amber Valley for good sites for commercial occupiers. It’s a good location because it’s on the edge of Ripley and close to the A38.”
