Crimestoppers Queen joins Tecserv UK

Tecserv UK’s latest recruit is bringing her extensive BBC news reading, Police and charity fund raising experience, which includes an MBE and having dinner with Barack Obama, to her new role as client relations manager.

 

Sarah Smithurst MBE, is joining the Underwood based fire and security alarm systems specialist in order to strengthen relationships with existing customers and strategic referral partners. The aim is to understand where Tecserv can further improve its services as well as ensure the company becomes the specified contractor whenever a commercial project needs fire, intruder alarm, CCTV or access control solutions.

In her new, role Sarah will conduct business reviews and client satisfaction surveys and liaise with Tecserv’s internal departments.

Commenting, Tecserv UK Sales & Marketing Director, Colin Milligan said, “With a background of having delivering the news “Most Wanted” on BBC & ITV TV, working for Nottinghamshire Police, and a previous Sales/BD role for The Games Workshop, Sarah is highly skilled in negotiation and will combine this with her experience of working with diverse communities to better understand client needs and how Tecserv should adapt to meet them.”

Sarah was awarded her MBE in the 2012 New Year honours in recognition of her work for the Nottinghamshire Police & Ghana Police to detect and reducing crime. Sarah was the force’s co-ordinator for the Crimestoppers initiative which offers a hotline so that crime can be reported anonymously. This won her much praise and the title “Crimestoppers’ Queen and knowledge of crime which should benefit Tecserv clients wishing to improve security measures.In addition to her work experience, Sarah has done a lot for charity. Her fundraising achievements include raising money to send containers filled with equipment for schools, hospitals and communities in Ghana, as well as raising money to build a new Police station in Ghana. She has also raised money for street children to be educated and have food and drink whilst at school in Ghana. Locally she has raised money for CVOC - child victims of crime within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Police.

A proud mother of two adult boys, Sarah’s other claims to fame include having dined with Barack Obama when he visited Ghana and the British High Commission, having been sent Dave Beckham underwear by David Beckham himself, to have tried on Jonathan Ross’s suit and been sent Virgin Air tickets by Sir Richard Branson, all items were auctioned for charity.
