Skills for the future – developing the skills to underpin the Industrial Strategy across the Midlands Engine

Building on previous years' events, the Chamber's 2017 Employment and Skills Summit will continue to deliver against the manifesto aim - to strengthen the link between education and the world of work, thus creating an environment to improve competitiveness, innovation and productivity levels. The summit will bring together education providers, businesses and policy makers to discuss the practical ways in which the business and the education sector can work together more effectively to deliver the skills required for economic growth in the East Midlands. The summit will include a series of workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions and guest speakers, with an emphasis on practical takeaways.

  • A choice of workshops will be available on the day, including content provided by: Tomorrow's Engineers, National Apprenticeship Service, D2N2 LEP, LLEP, Cascaid, National Careers Service, Loughborough University, Institute of Engineering and Technology.
