Two staff at accountancy firm rewarded with promotions

Leading firm of chartered accountants, Newby Castleman, has announced the promotions of two long-serving members of staff.

Andrea Moran takes over as Head of Bookkeeping and Payroll Services. Andrea, of Knighton in Leicester, has been promoted to her new position after nearly four years of service with the firm. She has spent most of that time as a member of its Bookkeeping and Payroll Services team, which she will now be taking over the management of.

She said: “I am thrilled with the opportunity to head up a wonderful team of dedicated staff, who I’ve come to know well in my time at Newby Castleman.

“I always felt a career in accountancy was suited to me and this new role gives me the chance to progress my career further. It’s a fantastic environment at Newby Castleman and I really enjoy working here. I am looking forward to playing my part in the ongoing growth of the department.”

Gulam Sattar has been appointed to the position of Financial Controller. Gulam, from Leicester, began working with Newby Castleman in Bookkeeping and Payroll Services in April 2013, after graduating with a degree in Accountancy and Finance from De Montfort University.

He said: “To be given the title of Financial Controller is a proud moment for me. I am excited by the additional responsibility this will entail, as I take charge of all aspects of Newby Castleman’s internal finances and aim to use my experience to put the firm on the best financial footing possible.

“Having studied accountancy through to degree level, it is something that has always held an appeal for me and I look forward to the challenges that await me in my new role, along with the opportunity to build my expertise further.”
