Learning and Development Professionals Inspired by Northamptonshire Conference

Sundial Group’s annual Learning and Development Thought Leaders’ Conference was once again a huge success, with over 90% of attendees saying they would recommend the event.

Over 70 senior learning and development professionals gathered at Highgate House in Northamptonshire on Friday 5th May to network and learn from some inspirational thought leaders working in the industry.

Speakers included Former England Rugby star and Director at Wingman, Rory Underwood, who reflected upon his time playing rugby and experience as an RAF pilot to discuss the dynamics of high performing teams. Performance Psychologist, Glenn Mead, wowed the audience with his session about neuroscience and how our brains work when it comes to multitasking.

Apprenticeships were a hot topic, with Andy Kaye from Bis Henderson Group taking to the stage to talk about the Apprenticeship Levy and Alison Lamplough from Laing-O-Rouke who shared the company’s successful journey to becoming ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year’.

Lucy McGibbon from Teamscapes Learning, delivered a fun team building session that got all delegates up on their feet to see how they could work effectively as a team, while Andy Stopps from Maguire Training discussed the power of e-learning and integrating it within the workplace.

This is the second year the group has organised the conference, and delegates were quick to praise the event as ‘thought provoking’, ‘very informative’ and ‘enjoyable’. Hear from attendees and speakers at the 2017 event in the video here.

Sundial Group’s Managing Director, Tim Chudley, said:

“I’m thrilled that everyone enjoyed the conference this year. It was a fantastic event and we’d like to thank all of the speakers for making it such an insightful day. It was great to network and meet so many people making a difference in learning and development. We’ve already had lots of positive feedback and preparations are underway for next year’s conference.”
