Morley Hayes to Showcase the Region’s Best Beers At Its Spring ‘Local Beer’ Festival

Morley Hayes, the region’s leading hotel, golf and leisure complex, is set to stage its first ever Beer Festival.

The seven-day Spring ‘Local Beer’ Festival is taking place in a specially refurbished barn at the complex on Main Road in Morley from Sunday 30 April to Saturday 6 May.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the very best that Derbyshire and the nearby areas have to offer and sample a wide range of locally brewed ales, beers and ciders.

More than 18 different casks of draught beer and cider will be available - from brewers including Nutbrook, Dancing Duck, Derby Brewing Co, Amber Ales, Derventio, Falstaff, Leadmill, Peak Ales, Tollgate, Brampton, Shottle Farm, Raw, Ashover Cider Company and Three Cats.

The festival will be open from 12 noon on Sunday 30th April, Monday 1st, and Saturday 6th May; from 4pm on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th May; and from 2pm on Friday 5th May, with the bar set to close at 10.30pm each evening. Admission to the event is free.

Commenting on staging their first ever Beer Festival, Andrew Allsop, managing director of Morley Hayes, said:

“Our guest beers are always very popular in our Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bars, so we decided to stage our very own Spring Beer Festival this year.

“Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy refurbishing one of the original farm buildings specially for the event, so we can promise visitors a fantastic selection of beers, ales and ciders, served in a fantastic setting.

“Morley Hayes is conveniently located on the H1 and Y1 routes from Derby to Heanor too, so it’s the perfect excuse to leave the car at home and really enjoy a tipple!”

Morley Hayes is set in the stunning Derbyshire countryside overlooking parkland golf courses. It boasts a luxury four star, 32-bedroom hotel and a choice of three restaurants, including the award-winning two AA rosette Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bar.

Golf facilities include a championship length 18-hole Manor course, 9-hole Tower course, a 17 bay, all weather floodlit driving range, golf pavilion and a highly-respected Golf Academy.
