Derbyshire Tableware Company Set To Open New Premises with HSBC Finance Package

A Derbyshire-based tableware company has secured a five-figure small business loan from HSBC enabling the company to completely renovate its new premises before opening in autumn this year.

The Chefs Tableware Company provides a wide variety of bespoke tableware, including ceramic plates and bowls, cutlery and glassware, to pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels in the UK, Europe and the Far East. The funding will be used to open new premises in Dronfield in September 2017.

The family-run business, managed by Tara Proctor and her step father Steve Geary, has been operating in Derbyshire since April 2013. The funding will be used to build specialist premises to showcase their unique tableware products to existing and prospective customers.

Tara Proctor, Managing Director of the Chefs Tableware Company, said: “Our aim is to work with our customers to provide ideas and concepts to create unique solutions for their menu and food presentation. We offer an in-house design service and can provide custom-made products to our customer specification.”

As a result of the move, Chefs Tableware will be able to move the majority of its manufacturing into the UK in line with demand from the company’s clients who are passionate about British-made products. Having the capacity to hold a larger volume of stock means the business is able to order in larger quantities and therefore take advantage of bulk orders. In addition to the loan, HSBC also provided also a £20,000 overdraft facility to support cash flow demands.

Proctor continued: “The new building will give us a large office space for expansion, spacious warehouse, and a new showroom for our clients. We’ll also be able to showcase our products to walk-in trade, which isn’t something we been able to do before.”

Dave Welch and Claire West, HSBC’s Area Directors for Business Banking in East Midlands said, commented: “We are so pleased to be helping Tara and her father to move into their fantastic new site and expand their business. They are incredibly passionate about what they do and the business has become a key player in the catering industry. We can’t wait to see how the business will grow following their expansion.”
