Anoki Hosts the Midland Doctors Association’s Annual Fundraising Lunch Which Raises Over £60,000

Anoki fine dining Indian restaurant played host to Midland Doctors Association’s annual fundraising lunch on Sunday 9 April, which raised an incredible £61,000 for the Derby-based charity.

Over 100 guests attended the fundraising lunch at Anoki on London Road in Derby.

Midland Doctors was established in 2005 following the Southeast Asian Earthquake, which totally devastated parts of northern Pakistan, India and Afghanistan. The charity now works to provide a positive impact on health care in Pakistan for the poor and less privileged.

A 100-bed Medical Institute has been founded in Kashmir, close to the seat of the earthquake, which has seen over 32,000 patients pass through its doors. Modelled on the NHS, it welcomes consultants from hospitals across the UK who offer their time and their expertise free of charge.

Unlike other charities working within Pakistan, Midland Doctors is led by NHS Doctors, senior consultants and business leaders, who provide a vital lifeline in their medical management and care.

Commenting on the event, the Midland Doctors team said:

“We held an amazing successful charity event at Anoki on the 9th April 2017. Not only was it a financially rewarding event (over £61,000 raised) but a totally enjoyable experience too; both the service and food was impeccable.

“All the trustees from The Midland Doctors would like to personally thank Naveed and his team at Anoki, for their continued amazing support towards this great humble charity.”

Naveed Khaliq, owner of Anoki, added:

“We’ve hosted the Midland Doctors Association fundraising events several times now and are pleased to do what we can to support their incredible fundraising efforts.

“To raise £60,000 is a fantastic achievement and we would like to wish the charity every success with their continued fundraising activities."
