Growth Hubs join forces at the biggest business event in the East Midlands

For the first time, the LLEP Business Gateway has teamed up with the D2N2 Growth Hub to exhibit at the biggest business to business event of its kind in the East Midlands.

With over 200 exhibitors, the Love Business Expo aims to motivate, inspire and connect those in business. Six industry sectors will be represented including manufacturing and engineering, transport and logistics, leisure and hospitality and professional services. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 4,000 business visitors making it the biggest event in the region.

Visitors can go to the LLEP Business Gateway (Growth Hub for Leicester and Leicestershire) and D2N2 Growth Hub (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire) stand (A44-45) to find out about the many forms of business support available across the region. Experienced business advisors from both Growth Hubs will be available on the day for free short one to one sessions about any help or advice a business may be looking for.

Dr George Gillespie OBE, CEO of Horiba MIRA and LLEP business board lead, said: “Growth Hubs help businesses in their area find the support they need to grow. The LLEP Business Gateway partnering with the D2N2 Growth Hub provides a great opportunity for businesses across the East Midlands to access some free and impartial advice and support for business growth.”

Simon Hall, Project Manager at D2N2 Growth Hub, said: “Most businesses aren’t bound by geography – they want to grow and attract customers from outside of their immediate locality. It therefore makes sense that we join forces with our fellow Leicestershire Growth Hub so that businesses across our respective regions get the best of both worlds.”

In the morning, there will be a Growth Hub speaker session about ‘Enabling and accelerating Business Innovation’. In addition, the session will include useful information about funded support to help businesses innovate.

Steve Megson, Managing Director of Whitwick-based marketing agency Quiet Storm and organiser of Love Business, said: "Having the Growth Hubs run a workshop to explain to business owners how to take advantage of all the support available within the East Midlands region is something I’m looking forward to.
