Notts-based Europa’s Annual Conference Drives Business Forward

Europa Worldwide Group, an independent logistics operator with sites in Nottingham and Osberton near Worksop, celebrated the successes of the previous year at its third annual management conference.

More than 60 senior team members from Hong Kong to Glasgow, Bristol to Newcastle and Manchester to Dartford from across Europa’s worldwide operations in air, sea, logistics and road transport travelled to the annual meeting, where Managing Director Andrew Baxter spoke to them about the importance of consolidating and optimising success in 2017.

Andrew, who acquired the business in 2013 and was previously joint owner of RH Freight – the Nottingham operator which was sold to Swiss firm Kuehne and Nagel in 2011 - said: “The last three years have seen us overcome some big challenges, which we addressed through a strategic restructuring process and targeted expansions of resources in key geographical hotspots.

“We’ve invested heavily in the Midlands with a new base at the Rushcliffe Technology and Enterprise Centre in West Bridgford in 2014, which has seen impressive year on year growth with a number of new business wins and subsequent expansions into new sectors such as hospitality.

“Every Europa team member has played a major role in creating and sustaining our success locally, nationally and internationally and I am extremely proud of the strides we have made as a business over the last three years.”

Europa is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year which will involve events to thank and acknowledge employees and customers for the part they have played in the company’s success, as well as fundraising for charity.

Europa Worldwide Group employs 600 people across 11 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries.
