Miller Homes To Create Children’s Playzone In Southwell

Youngsters and staff at Children’s House Nursery and Pre-school in Southwell have been jumping for joy after being award £500 by Miller Homes Midlands.

The cash prize was awarded following Miller Homes’ region-wide ‘Taken Care Of’ campaign, in which people were asked to explain how they would use the money to benefit the local community.

Alastair Parsons, sales director at Miller Homes Midlands said:

“We would like to congratulate Karen and the team for winning this prize. Their entry really encapsulated what we at Miller Homes feel ‘community’ is all about. Their plans to spend the money on a mini building play zone really excited us, and we can’t wait to see the finished space. It’s also great news that this will also help the children’s development for years to come.”

Karen O’Connell, owner at Children’s House Nursery and Pre-school explained:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have secured this generous donation. We all understand how important the local community is, and it’s great to be part of a thriving one here in Southwell.

“For the past year the children have been aware of the building works in the village and we’ve watched with real excitement as the new houses have been constructed at Miller Homes’ Regency Gardens development.

“This has then been replicated in many ways at the nursery through play. The £500 will allow us to develop, expand and create something extraordinary with our outside playing area as we convert it into our very own ‘Miller’s building site’.”

As Karen explains, the new play area will also help with the children’s development:

“Play, including imaginative play, prepares children for adulthood and teaches them a place in the world, as well as how to interact with the others and their surroundings. These environments lay a strong foundation for the physical, academic, social and emotional wellbeing that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to get started!”

The 34-home Regency Gardens development has been open since June, and offers buyers the choice of three, four and five-bedroom properties in a fantastic rural setting.

Miller Homes has been awarded 5 stars for Customer Satisfaction in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) National New Home Customer Satisfaction Survey.
