A cause very close to some of its employees’ hearts, the specialist unit at Nottingham City Hospital provides 24 hour treatment and rehabilitation for a range of life-changing neurological conditions.

A cheque for £3,748.48 was presented to the charity by Jonathon Hale – the husband of Russell Scanlan Accounts Administrator, Rebbeca Hale – who raised £1,934 towards the grand total with his sponsored sky dive earlier this year.

Jonathon’s adrenaline-fuelled challenge marked a particularly outstanding achievement as he was admitted to the unit himself, just a little over a year ago. He said: “I was a resident at Linden Lodge in 2015 and thanks to the specialist help and support – especially the physiotherapy, occupation and speech therapy, I made a full recovery.

“It was an honour to present Russell Scanlan’s total to such a worthwhile cause – the team there are remarkable and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unit’s specialist care.”

As well as Jonathon’s sponsored sky dive, the team at Russell Scanlan have held a variety of successful fundraising events throughout the year including its famous charity Pub Quiz at Trent Bridge in October, including a charity raffle.

Managing Director at Russell Scanlan, Bryan Banbury, said; “It has been a pleasure to present this great amount to Linden Lodge after a year of hard work fundraising from the whole team. We have seen first-hand how much Linden Lodge makes a positive difference to the community we live in and the rehabilitation they offer there is second to none – it’s been great to be a part of that.”

Nick Lawford from Nottingham Hospital’s Charity, which raises charitable funds for Linden Lodge Neurological Unit, said: “We are thrilled with the incredible amount Russell Scanlan has raised for us. Every penny raised really does count towards improving the care we can provide for our patients, helping to give them the best possible road to recovery.

“The fundraising efforts of corporate partners like Russell Scanlan help us to make the experience of being treated here at Linden Lodge as positive as possible during a hard and testing time for both patients and their families. Russell Scanlan’s grand total will contribute towards transforming facilities, provide important additional services, fund state of the art equipment and enhance the first class care given by the hospital.

“All of us here at Linden Lodge can’t thank Russell Scanlan enough for their support throughout the year.”

Russell Scanlan chooses a local charity to support every year. The company plans to announce its chosen charity for 2017 in the coming weeks. Previous local charities it has supported includes Nottingham based organisation, MySight and When you Wish Upon a Star.
