Rutland Pub Operator Wins National Award for Social Media Success

Epic Pubs is celebrating success in the Hospitality Social Media Awards 2016, which celebrate the very best in social media communication.

                                                      The Mill Street team

The company, which has five pubs, including Mill Street Pub & Kitchen in Oakham, Rutland and 185 Watling Street in Towcester, won the award for Best Multi Site Pub Operator of the Year for social media at the inaugural awards which recognise how effectively pub, clubs, hotels and restaurant operators are using social media to engage with customers.

Epic Pubs, which opened its first pub in summer 2015, were nominated for the award by industry peers. The awards, which were announced at a ceremony at Manchester’s Palace Hotel, are judged by leading professionals in marketing, communications, advertising and digital communications as well as leading lights from the pub, club and hospitality world.

Lara Busby, marketing coordinator at Epic Pubs, who drives the company’s social media strategy, says:

“We are delighted to win this award as we have managed to accomplish so much with social media in such a short space time. Our saying is we are a “pub for everyone” and so our social media reflects this too.”

She adds: “We understand our audience and tailor our social media to suit this by keeping up to date with trends in the market and create posts that are engaging and draw people in, not only to view the posts but to interact with them. We are continually increasing our likes, reach and engagement.”

As well as featuring engaging information on the pubs and their events, including theming in activity to national events, the company’s social media also focuses on introducing team members and key suppliers to customers as well as utilising video such as of chefs prepping dishes or staff making drinks or simply having fun at work to drive engagement.
