Local Accountancy Firm Announces Support For Hope Against Cancer

Leading firm of chartered accountants, Newby Castleman, has announced its support of a further local charity, Hope Against Cancer, and will be engaging in fundraising as part of the charity’s Hope Through Business initiative, ‘The Business Club’.

Newby Castleman will join other participating local businesses in an ongoing programme of events to support the charity’s work, calling on the help of staff and clients to raise awareness of the scheme.

Founded by Allison Wilson CBE in 2003 shortly before she lost her battle with the disease, Hope Against Cancer aims to put into place her vision of Leicestershire and Rutland as a hub for research into cancer.

The charity works in partnership with local hospitals and universities, raising funds to attract leading academic minds to the area and providing a platform for world-class cancer research.

It has also made clinical trials available to cancer patients in the area. In 2012, the Cancer Clinical Trials Facility was opened at the Leicester Royal Infirmary – one of only a few units outside of London.

Raquel Lesta, Senior Marketing Manager at Newby Castleman, said:

“We are delighted to support Hope Against Cancer. This is a charity that does fantastic work to combat cancer right here in Leicestershire, and it is a cause that is close to the hearts of a number of our team.

We are pleased to be part of the Hope Through Business initiative, which will see local enterprises collaborating to promote the charity and we look forward to doing whatever we can to help in that regard.

The Business Club is a great idea and we have no doubt that it will make a significant contribution to Hope Against Cancer over the coming months and years.”
