Derby Firm Going The Distance

“Advertising that goes further” is the slogan of the fast growing Derby based start-up DrivenMedia, who recently undertook themselves on a campaign installation that was further than they’d ever gone before.

Technical challenges and driving into the unknown faced the young business as they drove north early morning last week. The first technical challenge was the reason a fitting team had pulled out; locking bars normally used to secure the doors shut during transit had been riveted to the doors, making them impossible to remove, meaning the vinyl needed to be cut and installed around the locking bars. These bars also had the difficulty that they were not measured prior to their arrival. They also faced a tight deadline; the logistics firm needed the trailer to be ready to go before 3:30 pm or they would be late for a key customer.

“Normally we subcontract the printing and fitting our adverts as we don’t have the necessary expertise in-house. However, on this occasion, our suppliers felt that it wouldn't be appropriate for them to complete the job due to restraints relating to the truck. Luckily I knew an experienced industry expert locally who was prepared to take on the challenge and travel up to Chester-Le-Street with us”

You’ll be glad to hear that despite the challenges and the tight deadline the advert was installed successfully and the trailer makes it’s pick up. DrivenMedia is even arranging a local team to move the QR code to a more user-friendly location between the bars based on feedback that the advertiser (Corporate Clothing Services) has received.
