Newby Castleman gears up for next round of Auto Enrolment seminars

Newby Castleman (Financial Services) Limited is helping local small and medium sized businesses get a better understanding of Auto Enrolment this Autumn by hosting more of its hugely popular Auto Enrolment seminars at its office on Regent Road in Leicester.

The seminars provide advice and guidance on every aspect of Auto Enrolment to ensure employers are fully prepared to meet their legal obligations. The morning seminars will be hosted on 25th and 27th October with a further two held on the 1st and 3rd November.

The first of this round of seminars on 25th October will take place as part of Leicester Business Festival 2016. Instigated by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP), the Festival is a business-led partnership between the public and private sector looking to drive economic growth across the region.

Launched in 2015, the Leicester Business Festival included over 80 business events and welcomed more than 7,000 people from all over the UK.

John Freeman, Director at Newby Castleman (Financial Services) Limited, comments:

“We are delighted to announce that the first of our latest set of seminars will take place as part of Leicester Business Festival 2016. We took part in the Festival last year also and it is a great way to promote and celebrate what Leicester has to offer in terms of business.”

Launched in October 2012, Auto Enrolment is part of a Government initiative that aims to help more people save and prepare for their retirement and is gradually being rolled out across the country until February 2018.

John continued:

“Every company will be affected by Auto Enrolment, whether it employs one person of has hundreds of employees.
It will be the employer’s sole responsibility to enrol its employees into a workplace pension scheme and to ensure that it meets certain criteria. Failing to do so could have a significant impact on businesses, ultimately leading to fines of up to £10,000 per day.

It is vital that employers learn how Auto Enrolment will affect them as this is a legal requirement and enforcement action is already taking place against businesses who have failed to meet their pension Auto Enrolment requirements.”

According to data recently released from the Pensions Regulator, enforcement has risen by 306%.

The data reveals the watchdog used its enforcement powers on a total of 8,812 occasions between April 2016 and March 2016 with some 2,002 fixed penalty notices handed out and some 6,241 compliance notices issued.

The research has also found that 57% of companies still to implement Auto Enrolment are micro businesses with one to four employees.

John continues:

“Auto Enrolment doesn’t have to be a daunting process – but you can get caught out by not acting now. If you are unable to attend our seminars, we have several services to help you meet your legal requirements and we would be really pleased to help you.

Our previous seminars have been highly successful and well attended and we have had very good feedback following them.”

Newby Castleman (Financial Services) Limited’s seminars will take place on the 25th and 27th October and 1st and 3rd November 2016. To book your place or to find out more about Newby Castleman’s Auto Enrolment services, contact John Freeman at the Leicester office on 0116 254 9262 or email
