Look How Far We've Come!

It's been 5 years since Taryn Hall and Dee-Anne Slade met in a coffee shop in Winter 2010, both heavily pregnant at the time, to talk about starting up on their own.

“Are you completely mad?” Dee-Anne said to Taryn “How are we going to do it with 3 young kids and mortgages to pay?”

“We’ll be fine. Let’s do it” Taryn replied!

They have never looked back since and Response Network; a recruitment agency specialising in online vacancies, has gone from strength to strength, moving quickly from a home-based office to then virtual offices in Nottingham city centre before moving to Aspect Business Centre a few years ago.

From a standing start with no website, marketing collateral or any form of CRM they sat in a pub writing ideas down on a beer mat! Starting with zero clients, growing their base over the last 5 years to the large mix of clients they have today including innovative, growing and award winning businesses, they have met some amazing people along the way. 

There have been times whilst juggling motherhood and trying to talk to a new and very senior client on the telephone took its toll.  The journey has definitely not always been an easy one but both Dee-Anne and Taryn agree that it’s been completely worth it. 

What will the future hold?

“We have definitely seen the recruitment industry change in the last 5 years. We started Response in the middle of a recession and so we had more candidates than we had jobs.” explains Taryn. “Now, it's candidates that are becoming harder and harder to find and recruitment is now moving into a digital age. We are now working hard to make sure that we are at the forefront of this change and are investing in new software and tools as well as a forming our marketing and social media strategy.”  

They should be extremely proud of what they have achieved and their success shows that even with the challenges that life brings you can achieve great things if you really want to!
