PKF Cooper Parry Team Turn Their Hands To Gardening Cleaning And Painting Is There Anything This Lot Can't Do?

Market-leading PKF Cooper Parry has announced this year’s Community Week activities, where more than 150 members of its team will volunteer for a local charity for one day between 17 and 24 August – adding up to around 1200 hours of volunteered time.

PKF Cooper Parry, which has offices in the East and West Midlands, launched its first ever Community Week in 2015 as part of its CP Giving Programme, which pledges to carry out 365 days of volunteering every year - the equivalent of one day for every employee.

Last year, some six charities were supported over a one-week period. The campaign was so successful that the firm has doubled its commitment this year, with 12 charities set to benefit from this year’s activities. This will take the community team more than half way to achieving its 2016 volunteering target.

Groups of volunteers will support a diverse range of charities and not-for-profit organisations, including Marie Curie, The Prince’s Trust, Cure Leukaemia, LOROS Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Food Cycle in various projects across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and the West Midlands.

Team members are encouraged to sign up to any of the activities which are scheduled to take place throughout the week. Projects range from practical tasks such as gardening, constructing storage units and deep cleaning facilities, to organising donations, fundraising and supporting with telephone surveys.

Charities supported this year include the following:

Royal School for the Deaf, Derby                  Painting eight sheds and a sensory room

Commenting on this year’s PKF Cooper Parry’s Community Week activities, CEO Ade Cheatham said:

“Being generous is one of our core values and I’m really pleased that following the success of last year’s Community Week, we’re once again offering support to a number of local charities.

“Last year, Community Week introduced six charities with six projects and this year we’ve got 11 different charities with over 24 projects on offer. Going three times as big to make an even greater impact.

“It’s our ambition to give a whole year of our time to support a variety of charities that do really inspirational work in our community – that’s one day for every member of the Cooper Parry team. With over 150 people signed up in Community Week alone, we’re already well on the way to achieving this and its only month one!

I want to thank all of our teams for their incredible passion and support and, of course, to the charities for hosting us.”

Over the past 11 years PKF Cooper Parry has raised money for a range of local and national charities, including Macmillan, Alzheimer’s Society, Loros Hospice, Rainbows Hospice and Headway.

The firm is the headline sponsors of this year’s Colour Blast Dash family runs, which are taking place across the Midlands to raise money for Leicester charity The Laura Centre, which offers bereavement counselling for parents and children.
