The Miller Homes team has already taken part in a range of fundraising activities since the start of 2016, including the London and Edinburgh marathons, a bike-a-thon with employees cycling the length of the UK, bake sales, race nights and Tough Mudder which have all contributed to over £67,000 being raised so far.

In the Midlands region, sales director Alastair Parsons is undertaking two fitness challenges in order to raise an additional £3,000. On 20 August, he will be taking part in Race the Train, a tough 14-mile cross-country race in which participants try to out-run a steam train.

A fortnight later, Alastair will tackle the infamous Man vs Mountain, which will see him run 22 miles, including a 14 mile climb to the summit of Snowdon.  During this race, Alastair will face a number of obstacles including swimming across an open quarry and abseiling down steep cliff faces. Alastair can be sponsored by visiting the company’s Just Giving page.

The Miller Midlands team also have a number of fundraising activities planned including a charity ball, dress down days and baking competitions.

Miller Homes will continue to raise money across the country helping achieve the final target.

The company’s North East region is building a ‘Habitat charity house’, a home will be built to Miller Homes high standard by their award winning site team with the costs which would have been paid in labour being added to the company’s fundraising pot.

Additionally 16 members of the Miller Homes team are going to Malawi with Habitat for Humanity to take part in their Global Village Trip in September where they will help to build homes for local families living in poverty housing. They each have to raise a minimum of £1,000, with Miller Homes Midlands’ Belper-based George Tyler making the trip.
